Amarillo Conference / Older Than America
March 20, 2010

Just a couple of quick notes.

First, Georgina Lightning has been nominated for an award for her movie Older Than America. At the end of this message is the email I received from Ms. Lightening. You can view a trailer of her film at www.olderthanamerica.com.

Second, I am working to organize a conference in Amarillo, Texas which features Native American speakers/teachings. I have the support of the Kwahadi Museum (www.kwahadi.com), the Amarillo Convention and Visitors Council and others. I have contacted Standing Elk (www.star-knowledge.net), Ms. Lightning, and others to judge their interest. So far, there seems to be a strong interest in seeing this happen, including support from local volunteers. There are others out there I would like to see speak/perform at this conference. For instance, if you've never had the opportunity to hear Chelsea Flor (www.myspace.com/chelseaflor) play her music or speak about her vast knowledge of metaphysical topics, you have missed out.

Native American energy is missing from this area. One of the purposes of this conference would be to help bring healing to the area and ground the energy back into the earth. Although not necessarily exclusively, I like the idea of having female speakers. We need the support of the feminine to help heal the earth and bring healing to the world.

If you have ideas, suggestions, etc, please contact me at charleskempf@gmail.com

Thanks and don't forget to follow the link below and vote for Ms. Lightening.

We have until this Sunday at 11:59 EST to reach our goal of 10,000 votes!

This native actor, writer, and director’s contemporary drama Older than America is the story of a woman’s haunting vision revealing a priest’s plot to silence her mother from speaking about the atrocities that occurred at her Native American boarding school. It is a groundbreaking film that is ultimately about the triumph of the human spirit, and the resiliency of a people.

Winning the “Emerging Artist” Award is the opportunity to have Georgina’s work recognized for the achievement that it is, and will make history by making her the first Native American and the first woman honored with this award.

Vote here: http://www.thewhitehouseproject.org/epic/emerging_artist.php <http://www.thewhitehouseproject.org/epic/emerging_artist.php> and remember, it’s all over at 11:59 EST this Sunday!
